We made this change to reflect the evolving pedal cycle market; prior to 2022, the average value of a bicycle was relatively low and e-bikes were not as widely used.

The "Pedal Cycle" specification now covers a broader range of high-value cycles and bridges the gap between bicycles and motorcycles, creating a gradient between pedal cycle bronze and powered cycle diamond, covering all cycle types such as e-bikes.
